Here are the results from the Region 3-AA Jamboree held Saturday evening at Gilbert High.
In game one, the two new region newcomers Strom Thurmond and Gilbert started things off as the Rebels shut-out the host Indians, 35-0.
In game two, Batesburg-Leesville recovered a Saluda fumble with 53.2 seconds to go in the game just 38 yards from the end zone. On the game's final play, the Panthers' 48-yard field goal attempt was blocked by the Tigers to keep the game scoreless.
In the night cap, Mid-Carolina defeated Newberry 8-0.
Both teams traded possessions until there was 5:19 left in the game. Receiving a Newberry punt, Mid-Carolina traveled the needed 35 yards in six plays, ending the drive with a five-yard run by Krishawn Holley on a 4th down attempt. Holley would also score the two-point conversion.
Kerry Workman recovered a Rebel fumble at mid-field with 12.7 seconds left in the game. Four straight incomplete passes ended the night for the 'Dogs.
Newberry rushed the ball nine times for twenty-five yards including getting twenty-four of them from Kadeem Counts. The 'Dogs though were 1-12 passing with Montagus Caldwell making a 25-yard catch from quarterback Tyler Bishop.
The Rebels, meanwhile,went 0-3 from the air but got 73 yards rushing on 27 carries, including getting 28 yards from Krishawn Holley on four carries while Jeffrey Hentz rushed the ball four times for twenty-one yards.
